At Stockholm Debate Society, we offer a space for professionals, recent graduates, and lifelong learners to sharpen their thinking, improve their public speaking, and meet people who care about ideas and arguments as much as you do.

Debate is more than just competitive speaking. It’s about:
Learning to argue clearly, logically, and persuasively
Hearing and challenging ideas outside your professional bubble
Staying mentally sharp through structured intellectual practice
Building confidence in how you present your views — in meetings, interviews, or public events
Whether you’re a policy analyst, teacher, engineer, consultant, researcher, or entrepreneur — debate helps you grow.
No experience? No problem.

Some of our members have international debate experience.
Many started as adults, with no background at all.
All are welcome.
We offer a friendly, inclusive environment where people can:
Practice debating through regular debate sessions
Join workshops, socials and other events
Eventually take part in tournaments, if you're interested — but there's no pressure

The best way to get involved is to come to one of our events.
These evenings are designed for newcomers, with workshops, activities, and the choice of trying out debating firsthand. No preparation needed, no experience required.
